About the Performers
DC native and DC Improv favorite Jeff Maurer is a writer and comedian who was on the original writing staff at "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver," where he won five Emmys and two Peabody Awards. He writes the political comedy newsletter "I Might Be Wrong," which is the fourth-most read humor newsletter on Substack. Monty Python's Eric Idle has called Jeff's work "hilarious", and his writing has appeared in outlets including The New York Times and The Washington Post.

Jesse Singal is a Brooklyn-based journalist who covers social-science controversies, internet culture, and a number of other subjects. He's co-host, with Katie Herzog, of the podcast "Blocked and Reported," and author of the newsletter "Singal-Minded." His first book, "The Quick Fix: Why Fad Psychology Can’t Cure Our Social Ills," was published in April 2021. Before that, he was a senior editor and writer-at-large at New York Magazine, where I ran the "Science of Us" vertical. I’ve also written for The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Boston Globe, and a number of other outlets, some reputable and others less so.
