Spotlight: Enjoy great stand-up comedy in downtown DC! Our showcase lineups feature top talent from DC, Maryland, Virginia and beyond, performing on one of the country's most famous stages. You'll see a variety of styles and get up close with some of the stars of tomorrow. Support local talent, support local business and (most important) laugh your a** off. Showcases generally last around 90 minutes.

About the Comics

Adam Freesman

Adam Freesman is a comic out of Baltimore. He has opened for nationally touring acts in clubs and theaters around the U.S. such as Modi Rosenfeld, Geoffrey Asmus and Jourdain Fisher, to name a few. Adam has also featured in the Cleveland Comedy Festival and one police report due to a typo.

Violet Gray

Violet Gray, Baltimore's very own Queen LARPtress, has been a mainstay on the Baltimore comedy scene for years. She has won the pearl Next Superstar Comedian contest and is proud to be North Baltimore’s ONLY Dungeons & Dragons player. Violet won Comedy Kumite 18.1 and Kumite 18.2 (winter 2019) at the DC Improv.

Robert Mac (official website) is a comedian based out of Washington, DC. He is best known as the Grand Prize Winner of Comedy Central's national "Laugh Riots" competition and for his appearances on NBC's "Last Comic Standing," and he has two specials on Dry Bar Comedy. Mac has been seen on the stages of the inaugural Great American Comedy Festival, the Boston Comedy Festival, Montreal's Just for Laughs Festival, and other highly acclaimed events throughout the country. A few years ago, Entertainment Business Journal ranked Mac in the top 100 stand-up comedians in the U.S.

Matty Litwack

Matty Litwack is a weird young stand up comedian and writer. He was once a physics PhD student, but dropped out when he realized it was super boring. Matty’s writing has been published in the Washington Post, New Zealand Herald, and Scientific American. He has also performed at many comedy festivals, such as the Limestone Festival, Laughing Skull Festival, Bentzen Ball, and San Francisco Sketchfest. In 2014, Matty was a finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival and was the winner of the Devil Cup in New York City. Matty has also appeared on Fox’s “Laughs" and on National Geographic Channel’s “Crowd Control." Matty won Comedy Kumite 4.1 (winter 2016) at the DC Improv.

Jeremy Scippio

Native to Cincinnati and with a lifelong passion for comedy, Jeremy Scippio has made appearances on Oprah's OWN network, Buzzfeed, Fox, Amazon Prime and Hulu. In addition to being an opener for Theo Von, Craig Robinson and Jamie Kennedy, Jeremy was a performer on "Dave Chappelle: The Process" in 2017. A crowd favorite at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Jeremy’s international reach includes his recent performances in Thailand gaining fans from across the globe. Jeremy’s comedy album “Sociopath” charted at #2 on iTunes in 2022.
