DC Improv Event Planning: Venue Rentals

Our event spaces are perfect for presentations, parties, shows and a gazillion other functions.

 

Need a fantastic downtown D.C. event space?

The DC Improv isn't just a comedy club. It's also a fantastic event space. We have everything you need to host a private party, reception, luncheon, fundraiser, corporate meeting, jamboree or hootenanny. We have a big showroom and a small showroom, and both are available for daytime and nighttime rentals. Plus, the club is conveniently close to numerous parking garages and Metro stations. Getting here is a breeze.

Main Showroom

The main showroom seats up to 270 people when configured for a comedy show, and our tables and chairs can easily be rearranged to suit your event. As part of your rental, you'll have access to:

  • Our world-famous stage. Elevated for great visibility, with plenty of room for tables, chairs, charts, a five-piece rock band, or a can-can line.
  • Our top-of-the-line sound system. You can use our microphones for speeches, presentations or sing-offs.
  • Our video projector. You can show movies, PowerPoint presentations or slide shows on the drop-down screen on our stage by hooking a laptop directly into our A/V system. We have the cables you need (and if we don't have them for some reason, we'll get them).
  • Our lighting system. We can adjust the lighting for the stage or the showroom floor, according to your needs.
  • WiFi internet. If you need to hook in to the interwebs, we're happy to set you up on our system.

Lounge Showroom

The comedy lounge is a smaller showroom that seats up to 60 people when configured for a comedy show. It's great for smaller groups and more-intimate events. The lounge includes:

  • A performance stage. Elevated six inches, with plenty of space for several speakers, performers, or anything you'd need for a presentation.
  • Our top-of-the-line sound system. You can play music over our house speakers by bringing along a CD or hooking an audio device right into our system. Microphones can be run to any part of the room.
  • A video projector. The lounge projector points at our stage, and we have an automated drop-down screen.
  • The lounge lighting system. Featuring two styles of lighting (LED fluorescent light for meeting or classroom environment plus recessed can lighting for a more show type of feel.
  • WiFi internet. If you need to hook in to the interwebs, we're happy to set you up on our system.
  • Two private bathrooms.

Kitchen / Bar Services

The DC Improv has a full kitchen and bar. If you'd like us to provide food or beverages for your event (along with waitstaff), we have a special catering menu available. Catering can include passed appetizers as well as buffet style dining in addition to our regular sit-down restaurant dining service. We can even make specialty cocktails for your event!

 

Booking Comedians

You don't need to have a comedian to hold your event at the DC Improv. But if you do want to hire stand-ups or an improv troupe, we're happy to help you find some great performers.

Video: Bring presentations to life using our main stage screen and ultra short throw laser projector, plus additional 4K capable displays throughout our showroom. Backed by broadcast quality video switching, we provide options for any event.
