Improv Instructor: Anna Bethel
Anna Bethel (official website) is a comedy performer and teaches short-form improv in Washington, D.C. She was both the managing director and lead improv coach with ComedySportz, Washington D.C. until 2021. Anna has performed with various improv teams throughout the nation's capital. She teaches, coaches teams and individuals, performs regularly with The DC Improv and leads many customized corporate and private performances. Porkchop Volcano asked Anna to join as a permanent member in 2016, performing on stage, in video sketches and podcasts. Anna's professional improvisation training began at ComedySportz, DC in 2010. Her training with Kevin McDonald (Kids in the Hall) of writing sketch comedy from improv inspired the creation of varied media content.

Anna's Classes (in-person)
Level 1 | Beginning Improv. Learn basic improv skills and short form games, with an emphasis on teamwork, creative thinking and having a good time. Five or six weeks.
Level 2 | Short Form Improv: Characters and Emotions. Anna's specialty is short-form improv. In this five week course she explores the development of characters and emotions in a scene. Ends with a graduation show.
Level 2 | Short Form Improv: Relationships and Story. Further exploration of short-form improv, building on the skills developed in Beginning Improv. Five weeks. Ends with a graduation show.
Level 3 | Reading the Room Workshop. A five-week study of the art of sizing up a crowd and moderating an improv performance.
